Cape Symphony ‘Artweek Festival’ on ‘American Mavericks’

BARNSTABLE-  The Cape Symphony has announced that as part of the annual ‘Artweek Festival’, they will celebrate the birthdays of important musical American Mavericks.

In honor of the 100th birthday of world-renowned composer Leonard Bernstein, ‘American Mavericks’ will focus on the longtime New York Philharmonic Music Director’s vast career.

The concert is one of over 2,000 events on six continents taking place as part of “Leonard Bernstein at 100.”

Included on the repertoire of ‘American mavericks’ are minimalist composers Philip Glass and John Adams.

You can join the Cape Symphony for an open rehearsal of concert on Friday, May 4th at 7 p.m.

The open rehearsal is free of charge and will be held at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center.
