HYANNIS – The Cape Symphony season continues next month with Vienna to Hollywood.

Grammy-nominated violinist Philippe Quint will be the guest artist and perform his Grammy-nominated violin concerto composed by Erich Korngold.

The Vienna-based composer, Korngold, was an Oscar award-winning composer penning music for Paramount and Warner Bros.

His first film score was for A Midsummer Night’s Dream and he won his first Oscar for Anthony Adverse in 1936.

He fled Austria in 1938 and won a second Oscar for The Adventures of Robin Hood. The main title song from the film will be performed by the Cape Symphony.

Along with the performance by Quint and the works of Korngold, the Cape Symphony will also perform other Hollywood pieces including John Williams’ theme for Star Wars and the suite from “Threepenny Opera.”

Vienna to Hollywood will hit the stage on Saturday and Sunday November 14 and 15. Tickets can be purchased at capesymphonydot.org.
