HYANNIS – The Cape Women’s Coalition will be hosting its 6th Annual International Women’s Day Breakfast on Friday.
The free event will bring together 200 women from Cape Cod and the Islands to discuss issues relevant to this year’s theme Women Are Going…Forward.
Attendees will celebrate the history of women’s suffrage, which will turn 100 in 2020, while learning about specific actions taken by women in the Cape Cod community towards securing and furthering women’s causes.
A panel of women, including Lauren Barker, CEO of CCYP; Jarita Davis, Technical Writer-Editor, NEFSC and Tressie Fretschl, Social Worker, Commonwealth of Mass., will speak to what challenges women are facing and how to move forward.
Noted scholar Claudine Barnes from Cape Cod Community College will speak on the history of women’s’ suffrage, feminism, and the women’s movement.
As available tickets are few, interested parties should go to the Cape Women’s Coalition website at CapeWomensCoalition.com for more information.
