Cape Youth Orchestra and Conservatory Youth Ballet Collaboration

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Conservatory presents a seasonal concert on December 19 that promises to delight.

The performance will showcase two of the Conservatory’s marquee ensembles: The Cape Youth Orchestra and the Conservatory Youth Ballet.

In the spirit of great schools of ballet around the world, the Conservatory Youth ballet will be accompanied by a live orchestra for this unique performance of Act II of Tchaikovsky’s timeless work, The Nutcracker.

This family-friendly ballet will feature beautiful costumes, fast-paced action, and high-caliber dancing.

The production was choreographed by Jane E. Caputo, Artistic Director of the Conservatory Youth Ballet.

Music Director Chris Schroeder will conduct the Cape Youth Orchestra.

After the ballet presentation, the Cape Youth Orchestra and Debut Strings ensemble will also perform highlights from their fall season, including Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger.”

The performance takes place at 7 p.m. at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College.

As a program of the Cape Conservatory, the Cape Youth Orchestra has quickly become one of the preeminent youth orchestras in Southeastern Massachusetts since its creation in 2011.
