Cape’s Longest-Running Music Festival Set to Get Underway

BARNSTABLE – The longest-running music festival on Cape Cod kicks off its 43rd season later this month.

The Meeting House Chamber Music Festival will open with concerts on consecutive days beginning Sunday, June 19 at the Congregational Church in Chatham at 4 p.m. That show will be followed by a performance the next night at Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal in Orleans at 7:30 p.m.

This season of the festival includes a mix of music from different time periods and countries around the world.

The festival’s founder, artistic director and pianist Donald Enos will lead a group of musicians which will include internationally acclaimed soloists Amit Peled and Irinia Muresanu.

A “Meet the Artist” concert featuring Peled, an Israeli-American cellist, will be held in Orleans on June 24.

Muresanu, a violinist, will present “Four Seasons” on Tuesday, July 5.

Tickets for each concert can be purchased for $25 at the door or in advance. The 7-concert series is $110. For advance ticket sales call Nancy Hall at 508-255-3159. A complete festival schedule can be found at meetinghousemusic.org.
