fire department patchORLEANS – A car was driven into the Lost Dog Pub Tuesday evening on Route 6A in Orleans.

The Orleans Police and Fire crews responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. to find the vehicle about three quarters of the way into the building near the front entrance, according to Fire Cap. Tim Gula.

The small sedan was occupied by an elderly man and woman who were treated at the scene and refused to be taken to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Orleans Police Department.

Nobody inside of the restaurant suffered any injuries.

Gula said there was significant damage to the building and the building inspector was called to the scene to assess the damage.

The restaurant has been boarded up and is closed tonight.

Gula believes the restaurant may be open tomorrow.

The driver, a male, also hit another vehicle before entering the pub and that vehicle was also towed from the scene.
