‘CARE’ Brings Businesses Together to Make Environment-Focused Decisions

133447783HYANNIS – Business leaders and owners across the cape will meet at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum Wednesday for the first meeting of CARE for Cape Cod & Islands.

The acronym stands for “Creating A Responsible Environment,’ and the group’s mission is to help residents and businesses appreciate the area’s native wildlife and culture through education.

This will be CARE’s first meeting, and founder Jill Talladay said a host of special guests will speak.

“We have invited a professor from George Washington University to talk about successes in how people benefit economically from being responsible,” she said.

In addition, attendees can expect to hear from National Geographic’s Center for Sustainable Destinations Founder Jonathan Tourtellot.

Talladay said the inaugural meeting is a great opportunity to learn about the group’s upcoming projects, including project funding and a “CARE for the Cape” service day in the spring.

The meeting runs from 4-6 p.m. at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, South Street, Hyannis.
