HYANNIS – The fate of casino gaming will be determined this November when Ballot Question Three is put to the voters.
If approved, the law allowing for casino gaming in the Commonwealth would be repealed.
Opponents of casinos are expected to mobilize in force against the the pro gaming side, which includes business interests aligned with the gambling industry as well as unions.
University of Massachusetts professor Clyde Barrow said the question has national implications and will be hard fought through the media, advertisements and polling.
Barrow said a recent poll on the question in the Boston area resulted in a statistical dead heat.
