Castle Hill Artist in Residence Program to Host Studio Walkthrough

TRURO – The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill’s Artist in Residence Program continues this fall and a studio walkthrough and reading featuring three artists will be held this week.

Heather Blume, Elspeth Hay and Amy Ragus will showcase their work during a studio visit on Tuesday, November 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Edgewood Farm.

Blume has been a ceramic artist for the past 20 years and is using her time at the farm to develop oil paintings of human faces with distinct spirit and expression.

Hay is a local writer who is putting together a narrative memoir that she has been working on for several years. She examines why we live the way we do, and what significance small, daily decisions bring. Hay writes about food, motherhood, home and the environment.

Ragus is a large-scale photo collage artist and her work has been exhibited across the US and abroad. She considers herself a painter who uses photo fragments as brushstrokes on a larger field. She studies Henry David Thoreau and is interested in exploring his Cape Cod writing while in direct contact with the Outer Cape shoreline.

The event is free and open to the public.
