CCB Media Honored for Excellence by Massachusetts Broadcasters Association

HYANNIS – Cape Cod Broadcasting Media was recognized for excellence in the categories of news, commercial production and special event/local programming by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association during the organization’s recent annual conference in Framingham.

CCB Media, which owns and operates WQRC, 99.9 The Q, WOCN, Ocean 104.7, WKPE, Cape Country 104, WFCC, Cape Classical 107.5 and CapeCod.com, won awards for Spot News Coverage, Individual Commercial Production and Local Program or Special Event.

In the category of Spot News, the company was recognized for excellence with a Merit Award for its ongoing coverage of the opiate and fentanyl crisis on Cape Cod.

“This is a critical issue that we strive to cover accurately and with compassion on a regular basis. This award is a recognition of the work so many in the healthcare, public safety and social service sector are doing to combat the epidemic,” said News Director, Matt Pitta.

CCB Media also was recognized with a First Place Award in the category of Individual Commercial for the “Bryden and Sullivan – Summer Toys” campaign.

The acknowledgment for news excellence, as well as the recognition received for quality commercial production and public service campaigns, illustrate the scope of CCB-Media’s commitment to the Cape Cod Community,” said CCB Media Director of Programming, Jerry McKenna.

In the category of Local Program or Special Event, CCB Media was honored with a Merit award for the company’s annual “Christmas Wishes” campaign which in partnership with Child and Family Services of Cape Cod assists families in need during the holiday season.
