HYANNIS – The Cape Cod Baseball League’s Hall of Fame is looking for a new home.

After residing at its current location in the lower level of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum since 2008, the league is looking for a new location, preferably in Hyannis and on Main Street.

Cape Cod Baseball League President Judy Scarafile says that the issue is that they’ve outgrown their current space.

“Even though we could take the plaques down and kind of scrunch them together and put them back on the walls and maybe gain a couple years, it would really look pretty scrunched and people really want to come in and see more than just plaques,” said Scarafile.

The league intends on having the hall of fame at its current location until the first week of October.

Scarafile says that when looking for their new location, the league is hoping to stay centrally located, like their current home on Main Street in Hyannis.

“You can’t match the foot traffic of being on Main Street, Hyannis,” said Scarafile. “Someone once referred to Main Street Hyannis as Main Street, Cape Cod, and that really is true.”

Opening day for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s 2015 season is June 9.
