EAST SANDWICH – The Riverview School will honor the President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare at its annual Village of Dreams Gala next month.

Michael Lauf will be presented with this year’s Dream Maker Award.

The school said Lauf has made a significant difference in the lives of students through Cape Cod Hospital’s Project SEARCH, a vocational training program.

The program enables young adults with disabilities to gain and maintain employment through training and career exploration.

The transition program is available to students who are in their last year at Riverview and focuses on building skills that are useful to employers.

Students participate in three internships with Cape Cod Healthcare, including positions in the ER and administrative departments.

The SEARCH program will be expanded this fall to include Falmouth Hospital, which is also operated by Cape Cod Healthcare.

The 19th annual Village of Dreams Gala is June 16 at 5 p.m. at the Riverview School.
