CCRTA Begins “Free Fare Fridays” for Seniors on November 25

ccrtaHYANNIS – The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) is kicking off their “Free Fare Fridays”.

Starting on Friday and continuing through December 30, seniors 60 and over will pay nothing on fixed bus routes every Friday.

The aim of the program is to make sure that older residents take advantage of public transportation during the holiday season without the hassle of having to find parking on Main Street or at the Mall.

“It is not only convenient, affordable, accessible and the like, it also exposes all these seniors to the great services that we are very proud of providing,” said CCRTA Administrator Tom Cahir.

This is the first time that the CCRTA has offered free rides to seniors on the Cape.

“It goes from Bourne and Sandwich to Provincetown and Truro, we have seven fixed route services across the Cape and we’re excited to work with others to unveil this on Friday,” said Cahir.
