CCRTA Renames Road After Long-time Transportation Advocate

Paula GeorgeHYANNIS – The road to the Hyannis Transportation Center has been renamed in honor of a long-time transportation worker on Cape Cod.

“Paula George Way” was unveiled during a ceremony Wednesday, honoring George, who served as the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority’s Senior Transportation Advocate before her semi-retirement last year.

“Paula’s unwavering dedication to improving transportation opportunities for all citizens on Cape Cod and beyond has been extraordinary,” said Tom Cahir, the Administrator of the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority. “She is clearly a star and one of the finest individuals I have ever had the privilege to work with,”

George will continue working with the CCRTA as the organization’s Travel Training Manager. In that role, George will establish a program to assist seniors and disabled residents access public transit services.

“Having personal mobility allows people to enjoy all the things the Cape has to offer,” said George.
