CCYP’s Mentor Exchange Program Begins Third Year

ccypHYANNIS – Cape Cod Young Professionals is accepting applications for both mentors and mentees looking to participate in its Mentor Exchange program.

The program enters its third year and features a more in depth mentor matching process to ensure greater impact on the young worker’s life and career on Cape Cod.

“The goals that the mentees may have would vary greatly and it’s really a personal goal that they would be choosing,” said CCYP Executive Director Anne Van Vleck. “How did they want to develop themselves in their career or professionally.”

The program received a $50,000 grant award from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative at its inception and was designed with the potential mentee benefits in mind.

CCYP launched the program after data from the Shape the Cape survey found that there were challenges related to mentoring, professional development and peer network development.

“We thought the mentor program would be the perfect answer and we had a lot of people go through it and have a lot of great success through it,” said Van Vleck.
