CDP and HAC Receive $5K Housing Equality Grant

EASTHAM – Two local organizations are among a group of about 50 nationwide to receive funding through Wells Fargo’s Housing Equality grant program.

The Community Development Partnership and Housing Assistance Corporation received $5,000 to promote housing equality for lower-to-middle income households.

The two organizations plan to use the money to help fund the second annual Cape Housing Institute which provides municipal officials with the resources needed to boost affordable housing in the region.

The Cape Housing Institute is part of the collaborative Cape Community Housing Partnership initiative.

“With this grant program, Wells Fargo recognizes the leadership role housing equality advocates like the Community Development Partnership and Housing Assistance Corporation have in creating pathways to achieve affordable and sustainable homeownership for low-to middle income households on Cape Cod,” saidBriana Curran, Vice President, Communications & Community Relations, Wells Fargo, New England.

“We also realize there is more work to be done and are committed to doing our part to narrow the gap for households to achieve homeownership. We look forward to continuing to work together with community leaders like the CDP and HAC to make a greater impact.”
