CDP Receives $15K Grant from Cape & Islands United Way

EASTHAM – The Community Development Partnership has received a $15,000 grant from the Cape and Islands United Way.

The Community Impact Partner Grant will support the CDP’s Cape Community Housing Partnership, which is a comprehensive-based strategy to increase the region’s affordable housing capacity.

Through the program, low- to moderate-income residents, business and community leaders, municipal staff, and local elected and appointed officials are provided with the knowledge and skills needed to support the creation of more affordable housing.

The program debuted last year and consisted of the Cape Housing Institute, which was targeted towards municipal employees and officials, and Advocacy Training, which was geared towards residents.

“The Cape Community Housing Partnership is an innovative approach to building support for affordable housing,” said Jay Coburn, Executive Director of the CDP. “We are grateful that the Cape & Islands United Way has recognized that responses to the region’s need for affordable housing require funding outside-the-box approaches.”

The CDP supports several programs that strengthen the Lower Cape Community.
