Celebration of Youth at Orleans Town Hall

ORLEANS – Tomorrow’s leading artists, graphic designers, metalsmiths, or photographers may be one of today’s art students from Nauset Regional Schools.

The Annual National Youth Art Month Exhibit held at Orleans Town Hall features over 128 artworks created by students representing CC Lighthouse Charter School, Nauset Middle School and Nauset Regional High School.

Curated by the region’s art educators, the exhibit displays student works in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, fashion design, woodworking, jewelry, collage, metalwork and photography.

Sponsored by the Orleans Cultural Council, the exhibit is open to the public, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Council requests that visitors leave written comments which will be compiled and shared with the student artists and their teachers.

An Opening Public Reception to celebrate the students, teachers and their work will be held at Orleans Town Hall on Friday, March 8th, from 5-7 p.m.

Refreshments will be served. Live music will be performed by Council member, folk singer, Rand Burkert.

The Annual Youth Art Exhibit in Orleans was initiated 17 years ago, by the Orleans Cultural Council, to support and build creative communities through advocacy of the arts and to promote the integration of the arts in educational curriculum.
