Center for Coastal Studies Continues Month Full of Free Presentations

PROVINCETOWN – The Center for Coastal Studies is continuing a February filled with free presentations that are open to the public.

Don’t miss ‘Science Café: Squid Quo Pro” on Wednesday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. at Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, located at 2624 Main Street in Brewster.

This free presentation by CCS Director of Marine Fisheries Research Owen Nichols will showcase how fishermen and scientists are working together to study squid with case studies ranging from Cape Cod to the Dominican Republic.

Owen will describe how fishermen and scientists are working together in both places to study these animals, focusing on their fascinating natural history and the people studying and harvesting them.

The Center also invites the public to attend a presentation that’s part of its lecture series on February 27. The presentation, “An Introduction to the Seabirds at Race Point,”  will be held at Napi’s Restaurant, located in Provincetown, at 7:00 p.m.

Presenter Peter Flood will share his incredible photographs and in-depth knowledge in this presentation about seabirds at Race Point. Join us to learn about the identification, biology, and ecology of these remarkable birds and why Race Point attracts them.
