Ceremony Being Held to Swear-In New Cape Cod AmeriCorps Members

barnstable county symbolBARNSTABLE – The Barnstable County Commissioners will swear in 32 AmeriCorps Cape Cod members at a ceremony held in front of the Superior Courthouse on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 9:30 am.

The 16th corps of AmeriCorps members arrived on September 8, 2014 from all across the United States.

The new County AmeriCorps Cape Cod members will spend this year serving the environmental and disaster-preparedness needs of Cape Cod.

Each AmeriCorps member is required to serve 1,700 hours.

The entire Corps will contribute more than 50,000 hours of service worth over $1,000,000 to Barnstable County communities.

At the swearing in ceremony, AmeriCorps Members will recite the AmeriCorps pledge.
