Chamber Group Returns to Nantucket Whaling Museum

NANTUCKET – A world-famous chamber group makes a return to the Nantucket Historical Association Whaling Museum later this month.

The Walden Chamber Players will bring their combinations of string, piano, and wind ensembles to the museum on Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m.

The ensemble, which is based in New England, performs in some of the most prestigious venues throughout the United States.

The Walden Chamber Players include artistic director and cellist Ashima Scripp, founding member and violist Christof Huebner, violinists Omar Chen Guey and Irina Muresanu and pianist Christopher Oldfather.

Their performance will feature classical pieces including “Piano Trio in C Major” by Joseph Haydn, “New England Travelogue” by Gernot Wolfgang and “Piano Quintet” by Cesar Franck.

Tickets for the performance are $10 and free for NHA members. They can be purchased in advance at nha.org.

Doors Open at 6:30 p.m. with the concert beginning promptly at 7 p.m.
