VINEYARD HAVEN – After a week-long stay on Martha’s Vineyard, the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan is setting sail for a new port.

The Morgan departed Vineyard Haven this morning and is now en route to New Bedford, where she was built and spent the majority of her whaling life.

She will also make visits to Provincetown, Boston, and Mass Maritime over the course of the next month.

This is the Morgan’s 38th voyage, and her first since 1941.
