HYANNIS – New electronic reporting requirements for Mid-Atlantic Charter and Party vessels will take effect at the end of the winter.

Vessels with a federal charter or party permit for Atlantic mackerel, squid, butterfish, summer flounder, scup, black sea bass, bluefish or tilefish will need to submit trip reports electronically beginning March 12.

The reports must be completed within 48 hours following the completion of a fishing trip.

The electronic reports make the collection of data on fishing vessel activity more efficient, convenient and timely for fishery managers and other data users.
