Chatham Chorale to Kickoff 47th Season Next Weekend

HARWICH – The Chatham Corale kicks off its 47th season later this month with its “Baroque Fireworks.”

The performances Saturday and Sunday October 28 and 29 at the Monomoy Performing Arts Center at Monomoy Regional High School will feature the music of Handel, Purcell and Bach.

The Chorale will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation by showcasing Bach’s Cantata 80.

An orchestra chosen for the Baroque repertoire joins the Chorale, along with a quartet of acclaimed vocal soloists.

Music Director Joe Marchio says the concerts start off with the Overture from Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks.

Marchio says the piece was the spark for the program.

Tickets for the performances are $25 or $30 and can be purchased at chathamcorale.org, by calling 774-212-9333 or at the door on the day of concerts.
