Chatham Coast Guard Station to Posthumously Present Purple Heart to World War I Seaman

CHATHAM–The United States Coast Guard will posthumously present the Purple Heart to Seaman Norman Finch on Monday.

Finch was one of people who died in the sinking of the USS Tampa in 1918. It is the largest known loss of life by the United States Navy during World War I.

The family of Finch will be presented with the Purple Heart at the Chatham Coast Guard Station during a ceremony starting at 1 p.m.
