CHATHAM – The Town of Chatham has resumed work on a sewer construction project that started last spring.
This phase involves roadway restoration and paving as well as general cleanup over several weeks, weather permitting.
Full width roadway reclamation began this week affecting the following roads: Absegami Run, Oyster Bluff, Oyster Pond Lane, Shattuck Place, The Cornfield, Wheldon Way, Jane’s Way and Earl’s Way. Once reclamation is completed the roads will receive a binder course of paving. Trench restoration will begin Monday, 10/22, affecting Village Landing, Spinnaker Lane Independence Lane, and Inlet Road with the binder course being installed each day.
The top course of paving will likely wait until all roads have received the binder course of paving. Roads will passable at the end of each work day and police details will ensure residents have access to their properties. Work will take place from 7-5 Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
