Chatham Store Seeking Approval for 24-Hour Operation

KA_Cumberland Farms_Hyannis_042616_CHATHAM – A Chatham Cumberland Farms convenience store will petition town officials during a public hearing on May 24 to allow the store to be open 24-hours during the summer months.

The site plan approved by the town’s planning board last year limited the hours of operation to 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. An attorney for the store chain will seek an amendment to that approval to allow for 24-hour operation from June 1 to Labor Day.

Attorney James Veara said in a letter to the board that the previous store down the road was open 24 hours, and that many customers had inquired why the Cumberland Farms did not have the same hours.

The hearing will take place at the Annex on George Ryder Road, and will begin at 7 p.m.
