Children With Fresh Air Fund Visit Cape Cod Next Week

Cape Cod Kids SunsetHYANNIS – A small group of New York City children with the Fresh Air Fund will be visiting the Cape next week.

The children will arrive in South Dennis at Patriot Square Plaza on Tuesday and will be spending one to two weeks with volunteer host families in Nantucket, Harwich, Dennis and Chilmark.

The kids range in age from six to 18.

According to the Fresh Air Fund, some children are leaving home for the first time, while others are returning to visit the same host families for consecutive summers.

The Fresh Air Fund is a non-profit agency that provides free summer experiences to over 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877.

Each summer, around 4,000 children visit volunteer host families in rural, suburban and small town communities across 13 states from Virginia to Maine and Canada through the Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program.
