HYANNIS – Children’s Cove will mark 20 years of service with an event Thursday morning.

The group was established by Barnstable County in 1997 as an advocacy center for childhood victims of domestic violence, physical, and sexual abuse.

The organization has assisted thousands of local children and their families since then.

Lawmakers and county officials will present the organization with a citation marking their 20th anniversary.

The ceremony will be held as part of the 16th annual Children’s Cove Champions for Children Conference.

The public is invited to attend. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Iyannough Road in Hyannis.
