Classic Film To Be Shown And Discussed in Dennis

DENNIS – On April 28th, the classic film “All About Eve” will be shown and discussed at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, which is located in Dennis Village on the grounds of the Cape Playhouse.  The movie garnered 14 Academy Award Nominations, winning 6, including Best Picture.

The afternoon will start at 3:00 with an informal reception in the galleries of the museum. That will be followed by a screening of the film and a panel discussion.

“All About Eve” is a timeless film about two vying actresses, one a tough established Broadway star, the other a young hopeful.

Along with Bette Davis and Anne Baxter, its all-star cast includes a very young Marilyn Monroe.

It is ranked 28th on the American Film Institute’s “Greatest Movies of All Time.” List.

Having met while shooting the film, Davis, who ushered at the Cape Playhouse in 1928, married co-star Gary Merrill shortly after filming was complete.
