SANDWICH – Crews are working to clean up an oil spill at the Sandwich marina.
The town’s harbormaster’s office called the fire department this morning after noticing the spill, which was roughly 100 feet by 50 feet. Sandwich Fire, the Coast Guard, and the Department of Environmental Protection responded to the scene.
A private company has since been called in to help clean up the spill and should have it taken care of by the end of the day.
Officials do not know where the spill originated.
