WELLFLEET – Work is set to begin this week at the Marconi Beach parking lot, as crews replace the existing pavement and curb stops.
The project starts on Thursday and should last until December.
The work will result in closures of the lot, but Seashore officials say the contractor will keep as much of the lot open as possible during the project. On occasion, the entire 530 space lot will have to be shut down, according to Seashore officials.
Construction is planned for the Race Point Beach parking lot starting next March. That project should wrap up before Memorial Day.
The total cost of both projects is estimated at $2.1 million. Funding comes from the Federal Highway Administration.
