Coast Guard Medevac’s Man from German Container Ship

Coast Guard celebrates aviation program's centennial anniversaryNANTUCKET – A Coast Guard Crew from Air Station Cape Cod med evacuated a 55 year old man from a vessel 75 miles south of Nantucket today.

The First Coast Guard district command center received the call at 10 a.m. from the Captain of the 984 foot long German container ship Hanjin Baltimore.

The man reportedly suffered a heart attack, and a Coast Guard helicopter arrived at the vessel around 2 p.m., according to the Coast Guard office.

The patient was brought to Massachusetts General Hospital at 3:20 p.m. There is currently no information regarding his condition.
