Coast Guard Seeks Assessment Participants for Buzzards Bay Project

BOSTON – The Coast Guard is seeking participants for their Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment, (PAWSA), of Buzzards Bay.

Although they want to hear from members of the public, Petty Officer Andrew Barresi said it will be a “…joint effort, involving waterway users, stakeholders, and agencies, to focus on identifying major waterway safety hazards, estimating risk levels and evaluating risk mitigation measures.”

On February 7-8, a structured workshop will take place to make sure the Buzzards Bay waterway system has environmental protection and safe navigation.

People interested in taking part can submit their contact information to the agency.

They’ll be chosen based on their waterways expertise, and will create a broad cross-section of stakeholders.

Anyone who wishes to be a part of the workshop is asked to provide their waterway experience and related skills to buzzarsbaypawsa@uscgmil by December 22nd

If selected, they will receive a formal invitation.
