‘Come Feast and Be Merrie’ Medieval Festival Comes to Sandwich

sandwich-arts-alliance-logoSANDWICH – Wassail will be flowing in Sandwich next month during a medieval winter solstice festival.

The drink which was originally consumed at medieval celebrations to wish others “good health” will be served at the Come Feast and Be Merrie festival on December 3 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall

The two-hour, interactive medieval variety show will include an introduction and grand procession followed by a night of music, skits and caroling with the audience.

The event features 30 costumed cast members who will perform short plays and madrigals with a feast to be enjoyed during intermission.

Guests can purchase a feast online when ordering tickets or bring their own. The menu will be provided by Café Chew. The wassail and dessert will be provided by Sandwich Arts Alliance.

Skits include “Cinderella” and “A Medieval Melodramma,” along with “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $10 for children and can be purchased online at sandwichartsalliance.org.

Medieval dress is optional but welcome.
