COMM Firefighters Respond To Car Fire in Osterville

fire department patchOSTERVILLE – There were no injuries after a vehicle stalled in the middle of the road in Osterville tonight and caught fire.

According to firefighters with the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department, the 1996 Volvo Sedan caught fire on Parker Road after experiencing electrical problems around 7:30 p.m.

The two occupants of the vehicle reported seeing smoke from the engine and left the vehicle before the fire started.

Barnstable Police controlled traffic at the scene and Barnstable Department of Public Works sanded the road to prevent icing.

The fire was quickly knocked down and is still being investigated.
