Interfaith Service at Cape Cod Synagogue to Remember Shooting Victims

HYANNIS – An interfaith service will be held Thursday on Cape Cod to grieve and reflect following the mass shooting Saturday at a Pittsburgh Synagogue.

Representatives from many traditions and organizations will be present to offer prayers, songs and resolve in the face of evil.

The service is at the Cape Cod Synagogue in Hyannis at 7:30 p.m.

Robert Bowers is accused of killing 11 people and injuring six others, including four police officers at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

Rabbi David Freelund of the Cape Cod Synagogue said a stream of cards and flowers has come into the synagogue.

Freelund has also been in touch with Rabii Lieberman of Falmouth Jewish Congregation and Rabbi Alperowitz of Chabad Jewish Center of Cape Cod and that they are standing together during this dark time.
