Conference for Artists of All Levels Coming to Cape Cod

HYANNIS – An art conference for artists of all levels and media will be held this fall in Hyannis.

The Cape Cod Art Association is hosting “Mastering Your Mark 2016” at the Hyannis Resort & Conference Center on Saturday, September 24.

The conference will feature Joe McGurl and 25 of the region’s best artists who will conduct seminars, demonstrations, panel discussions and hands-on activities that cover technique, the creative process, the business of art and more.

McGurl, who is a signature member of Plein Air Painters of America, will give the keynote address.

“This is the first event of its kind on Cape Cod in recent memory and is already generating a lot of excitement in the art community,” said Louise Foster, the president of the Cape Cod Art Association. “It’s a unique opportunity for emerging and established artists to come together to learn, find inspiration and network.”

Post-conference events will be held on Sunday, September 25 and include bus tours of the area for taking reference photos and two all day workshops with Vera Champlin and Jonathan McPhillips.
