FALMOUTH – Officials with the Cape Conservatory officially cut the ribbon this month on their new preschool playground on land behind their facility overlooking Beebe Woods in Falmouth.

Previously, the playground was adjacent to the Conservatory’s parking lot. The project is just the latest in a series of updates to the conservatory, on the heels of a recent expansion of the center’s preschool classroom.

The Conservatory preschool has grown in size and stature under the leadership of Executive Director Stephanie Weaver and Preschool Director Anne Kullas.

“In addition to our nurturing and highly skilled preschool teachers Jaime Ogilvy, Alison McGrail, and Kerry Jones, we offer an arts-enriched curriculum including a Suzuki-inspired violin program that is taught as core curriculum. It’s an exciting time to be a preschooler at the Cape Conservatory,” said Weaver.

Work on the preschool playground began over the summer.

The next step is to fundraise for new playground equipment.

“Unfortunately, the wood was rotten on our former playground structure and we were not able to move it. We are now fundraising for new equipment,” explained Weaver.

“With a goal of $4,000, we can wrap up payment of the recently installed fencing, and acquire safe, fun new play structures.”
