Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod Receives $55k Workforce Training Grant

HYANNIS – The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod has received a state Workforce Training Fund Program grant.

The bank was awarded over $55,000 to train 35 workers and add new jobs by 2020.

The goal of the grant program is to promote job growth and retention, along with providing more opportunities for workers by increasing business productivity and competitiveness.

“As a local, community bank, it’s so important for us to invest back into the communities where we live and work,” said Lisa Oliver, the president and CEO of the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.

“An important part of that reinvestment is in our employees by supporting and encouraging growth through training, team-building and ongoing professional development,” she said.

The grant will assist in the development of a corporate training program, provide opportunities for professional development and strengthen the organization.

The bank, which is headquartered in Hyannis, is an independent, local, mutual community bank with over $900 million in assets and 175 employees.
