Cotuit Center for the Arts Hosts Dance Expo and Performance Event

Cotuit Center for the ArtsCOTUIT – Choreographer Pamela C. Wills presents the first annual Cape Cod Dance Expo and Performance at the Cotuit Center for the Arts on October 15.

The Expo, which is free, takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Gallery and on the Main Stage, and the Dance Performance begins at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.

In the 11-3 p.m. session, dance studios, teachers and vendors from across the Cape will provide information on their offerings, promote their classes, display their merchandise and provide demonstrations and short “teaser” dance classes.

Sheena Harper and Harper Dance Center of Mashpee, who is the event sponsor and has donated rehearsal space and time, will offer student demos and perform with the faculty ensemble in the evening.

Cape Cod Tango of Marstons Mills, which offers Argentine tango lessons and dance events, will offer demonstrations.

Michele Colley of Cotuit Center for the Arts will have a table at the exhibit and offer demos.

A number of vendors with dance-related products and services will also be represented at the event.

The evening performance will include almost every imaginable style of dance including belly dancing, Egyptian dance, tap, jazz, ballet and ballroom dancing.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Mashpee Middle High School’s new Fine Arts Boosters Club.

Admission is free but tickets to the evening performances are $28, $25 for members and $15 for students.
