Cotuit Center for the Arts to Host World Premiere

COTUIT – A play will be making its main-stage world premiere later this month at Cotuit Center for the Arts.

The comedy “A Talented Woman,” by Lynda Sturner and Jim Dalglish will open March 21 and run through April 7.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

The award winning play has received staged readings in festivals at The Actors Studio of New York and the McCarter Theatre.

“A Talented Woman” follows the tumultuous lives of three generations of women living in Manhattan during the Great Recession, including a recently widowed grandmother on the verge of financial ruin, her workaholic daughter struggling to balance her work and home lives, and her 14-year-old hellion of a granddaughter.

The play bounces between hilarity, insight, pathos and pain while it explores the issues the women face at important stages of their lives.

Tickets for the performance are $35, $30 for balcony seating. There is a $5 discount for members and a $2 discount for seniors and veterans.
