BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Council of Churches has extended the term of its Interim Executive Director for another six months.
Edye Nesmith will continue in the position until next June after a unanimous decision by the Board of Directors. Nesmith has been on the job since the beginning of July, following the retirement Diane Casey Lee.
The council runs A Baby Center, Bridge to Hope, Chaplains at Cape Cod Hospital and Spaulding Rehab, Covenant to Care for Foster Families, and Hands of Hope Outreach Center. They also operate the following homeless ministries: Hospitality Housing, Street Outreach Project, HM Volunteer Coordination, and Youth Street Reach.
The council is continuing its search for a permanent director.
