Cranberry Valley To Host PGA Jr. League Regional

HARWICH – Cranberry Valley Golf Course will host a PGA Jr. League Regional this weekend.

Presented by National Car Rental, the regional will see four all-star teams of co-ed junior golfers, ages 13 and under, compete for the opportunity to advance to the PGA Jr. League Championship next month in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Following the spring and summer seasons, 10 player all-star teams are formed from a combination of players in each league.

These all-star teams moved through Section Championships last month to earn a spot in the PGA Jr. League Regional competitions.

12 Regional champions advance to the PGA Jr. League Championship, which has been held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale since 2016 and will stay through 2022.

The PGA Jr. League brings boys and girls together to learn and play golf on co-ed teams, all with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals.

Kids wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with friends, competing in a two-person scramble format that builds confidence and end encourages sportsmanship.

While the focus of PGA Jr. League is primarily on the recreational nature of its spring, summer, and fall season, the PGA Jr. League Postseason presents competitive golfers a fun and aspirational finish to regular season play.

The PGA Jr. League Postseason is designed to celebrate the regular recreational season held from April to July, and reward players who have given their best effort and improved during the regular season.

The regional is set to take places Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th.

Cranberry Valley Golf Course is located at 183 Oak Street, Harwich.
