BOURNE – A car struck a utility pole on Sandwich road this morning in Bourne snapping it in half.
Police responded to the scene just after 2 a.m. to find a small sedan traveling east had taken the pole down just east of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School.
The driver, a female, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries described as minor.
There were two other passengers that were uninjured.
NSTAR Crews are replacing the pole this morning and police advise motorists to be aware of traffic delays this morning.
The crash remains under investigation and Bourne Police Sgt. Wallace Perry said he believes the driver will be cited.
Wallace said that alcohol was not involved.
