D-Y District Hosting Public Meeting on Proposed Mattacheese, Wixon Projects

YARMOUTH – Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School officials will hold a public meeting Wednesday night on the proposed Mattacheese and Wixon School projects.

The meeting is planned for the D-Y High School Library at 7 p.m. It is the last public session currently scheduled on the matter.

The school district was recently accepted by the Massachusetts School Building Authority to study renovations or new construction for Mattacheese. Officials will also be examining the future of the Wixon School.

The district is looking to address the long-term educational needs for both schools.

The MSBA helps fund school projects across the state, selecting schools with the highest priority of need annually to collaborate with them toward a solution.

The district, along with their architectural firm Perkins Eastman, has been conducting visioning sessions to help determine what is important to consider as they design their school renovation or new building.
