BARNSTABLE – Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe has endorsed Barnstable County Sheriff Jim Cummings in his re-election bid.
O’Keefe noted that Cummings is a “professional law enforcement man who has served the Cape and Islands for many years” and that if we want to retain professional law enforcement leadership in the Sheriff’s Department, “Cummings is the clear choice in November.”
Cummings has received endorsements from State Representatives Tim Whelan, Randy Hunt and David Vieira and from police unions in Falmouth, Sandwich and Mashpee.
Cummings, who is seeking his fourth term as Sheriff, faces Democrat Randy Azzato in the November 8 election.
