Darlene Love to Perform Cape Cod Holiday Concert

HYANNIS – A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will perform a special holiday concert on Thanksgiving Weekend on the Cape.

Cotuit Center for the Arts and Payomet Performing Arts Center are teaming up to present “Darlene Love Rocks the Holidays,” at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 26 at 7 p.m.

The show will star Darlene Love and her full band for an evening of soulful holiday music.

In the 1960s, Love sang lead on several Phil Spector-produced hits including “He’s A Rebel,” “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, “(Today I Met) The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “Wait Til My Bobby Gets Home” and the seasonal classic “(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home.”

She also sang background vocals on hits including the Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” and Tina Turner’s “River Deep – Mountain High.”

In the 70s’ she sang backup for Dionne Warwick and sang on the TV show “Solid Gold,” which debuted in 1980.
