WELLFLEET – Today marks the second day of the Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk, an annual event raising money to support homelessness prevention and affordable housing efforts on Cape Cod.

Participants are walking over 16 miles today from the Marconi beach area in Wellfleet to the Brewster General Store. The event began yesterday in Provincetown and wraps up Sunday in Falmouth.

Between 300 and 400 participants are expected over the course of the week with about 50 to 60 walking each day, with a small number of walkers who walk all the way from Provincetown to Falmouth.

The walk supports nine social service agencies, including Housing Assistance Corporation, Champ Homes in Hyannis, the Chatham Ecumenical Council for the Homeless and the Community Development Partnership.

Since its inception in 1993, the walk has raised over $4.5 million.
