Deceased Driver in Wrong-Way Crash Identified

PLAINVILLE – State police have identified the man killed in a crash early Thursday morning when he drove into a vehicle driven by a Barnstable woman.

22-year-old James Keating of Norton was pronounced dead on Interstate 495 in Plainville. Keating was operating his vehicle the wrong-way, crashing into an SUV and leaving a 21-year-old Barnstable woman seriously hurt.

Police do not plan to identify the woman. She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

No additional information is expected to be released on the crash.
